BRCA 2023 2WD Nationals Round 4

The weekend saw Round 4 of the BRCA 2WD nationals at the fantastic Bedworth Model Car Club.

Saturday presented a chance for some practice for all the drivers competing in Sundays national.  A field with record high entries, showing how popular and enjoyable the front wheel drive class is becoming.
The Formula 1 class was also present and looking great on this track, which suits the cars very nicely.


In Sundays qualifying Michael Lee would take a convincing TQ/Pole position with his Icon 2.  In FWD, the pole sitter went to Ben Moorey, Ben Cosgrove and then Schumacher’s Andy Murray and Aaron Rose in P3 and P4. The FWD team is growing stronger each weekend, shown clearly here with Andy and Aaron joined by Daniel Robins, Alex Bold and Sam Law all choosing the Schumacher FT8.   A total of 5 cars in the A final. Well done to all those guys and the rest of the team for strong performances across the board!


In the finals, Michael Lee and his Icon 2 could seal the Formula 1 national win with 3 from 3 final leg wins.
In the FWD leg one final, the top 6 cars of the A final finished in qualifying order, but the rain hit for the second 2 finals. This saw some thrilling finals, allowing wins for each of the top 3 qualifiers, and a tie on points for all with a p1 and p2 counting for each.


Ben Moorey would come out on top, with the fastest finishing time in his final leg win, followed by Ben Cosgrove.   Andy Murray completed the podium with his Schumacher FT8. Aaron Rose ended the day in 4th overall, Daniel Robins 6th with Sam law and Alex Bold ended up in P9 and P10 with their Schumacher cars.
