General FAQ's

Q1. My Core Code LCD radio has no throttle output.

A1. Please check the TH.HOLD switch is at position 0. If at position 1 the throttle will not work.

Q2. My 2.4GHz radio has reduced range and/or is losing signal (glitching)

A2. Check your receiver aerial cable, if any part of the coaxial cable is damaged or missing, this has a serious effect on range and a new receiver will be required. Check placement of the receiver and ensure the aerial is upright and as high as possible in the car. Try to avoid placing the receiver directly behind shock towers and other solid objects. Check the transmitter aerial (where applicable) and change if necessary.

Q3. My UAC 50 charger is noisy when charging/when the fan powers on.

A3. The fan requires a drop of oil, open the charger case by removing the screws, unclip the fan, lift the sticker and apply a drop of light oil.

Q4. My KO radio throttle and steering does not work as expected.

A4. Ensure that you have set the throttle and steering endpoints in the system menu. Enter/system/AdjustST for steering. Enter/system/AdjustTH for throttle.

Q5. My KO servo glitches at neutral.

A5. KO digital servos have high torque in the neutral position. Sometimes you may see a slight glitch at neutral but this is normal. Please use the servo as this does not alter the performance.

Q6. My Speed controller (ESC) is cutting out.

A6. This is most likely due to overheat protection or low voltage cut off protection. Check the temperature of your motor and ESC, adjust the gearing or ESC settings accordingly if either is too hot, also ensure you are using the ESC fan (if applicable). Check what the low voltage cut off is set to, we recommend 3.0v per cell as a starting point. Some ESC's such as Hobbywing have "AUTO" as an option which sets the cut off at 3.3v, which we have found to be slightly high in some circumstances.

Q7. Do I need to use the capacitor provided with my ESC.

A7. Yes, it is highly recommended and could void your warranty if you do not.

Q8. My motor is getting hot after each race, what is an acceptable temperature.

A8. As a general rule, we recommend no more than 80°C. If your motor is regularly over this temperature, we recommend gearing down, lowering the motor timing, adjusting the ESC settings e.g. timing & boost, fitting a cooling fan.

Q9. My ESC/motor is not working, could it be something obvious.

A9. Yes, check the receiver cable is plugged in correctly and observe the correct polarity, ensure you have followed the calibration process correctly, some ESC's require the throttle channel of the radio to be set to "Reverse" Check you have the motor connections in the correct sequence, A to A, B to B, C to C. Check the sensor cable is plugged in correctly, or try another sensor cable. Check the soldering joints are good. Check the battery is charged.

Q10. Do Schumacher racing handle GM repairs.

A10. No, we are no longer the GM distributor, repairs/service should be handled by their new distributor, Logic RC.

Q11. Do Schumacher racing handle Thunder Power repairs.

A11. No, we are no longer the Thunder Power distributor.
