Orlowski Wins 2WD in France

23 May 2018

This past weekend saw the 1/10 buggy French nationals Round 3. The race was held at “Le club Auto RC du Faucigny” near Bonneville in south of France. The Faucigny race track has incredible location in the valley surrounded by French Alps with the wall of snow covered highs in the south. The race track itself has very rough dirt surface which reminds older drivers the mid 90ties way of racing.

The race was attracted by Schumacher’s Michal Orlowski. Michal has hard work there as he has no championship points in France and was qualifying in the lowest heats.  Also there was no reseeding after practice runs. Qualifying with the slow drivers at this slippery and bumpy track was difficult. Finally it was Renaud Savoya secured overall TQ in 2WD class and  Armand Lantheaume took overall TQ in 4WD class. Michal finished qualifying runs at 3rd grid to the finals in both classes.

The final runs were even more challenging as the track became more rough after each round. In 2WD class Michal managed to took wins in A2 and A3 and secured the overall 2WD class race win, from Renaud Savoya second and Clement Boda the third. In 4WD class Michal had bad luck on the start in A1 and A2 runs and only in A3 he took a win showing Schumacher L1 performance in these difficult, rough conditions. Overall race win in 4WD class took Armand Lantheaume from Thomas Musso second and Michal Orlowski the third.

Team Schumacher drivers race results:
Olivier de Montfumat: 2WD – A9; 4WD – B1
Frédéric Pain: 2WD – B4; 4WD – B7
Philippe Hautecoeur: Stock – A4

Congratulations to Michal and the Team!
