Louth RC Winter Series

17 November 2017

Sunday 12th November was the second round of the Schumacher winter series held by the Louth Radio control car club.
A growing entry for this round, with a mix of on and off road racing, it was sure to be a great event.

With five classes there was a lot to get through. 13.5 blinky touring being the most popular class, along with the clubs own 17.5 Open class, GT12 and 2wd and 4wd Buggy.  All running on the Sorex 28RK touring tyre, and Schumacher Cactus off road tyre, there was plenty of grip available for all classes.

13.5 was hotly contested and would see Schumacher Mi6evo of James Hart take the top qualifier spot. And after two finals James would come out on top with his Schumacher. Chris Lovely and Alex Brocklebank with another Mi6evo would complete the podium.

In the 17.5 Open class local club members raced for the right to be on pole. With local young lad Oliver Toothill coming out on top. After two finals Andrew Babb, would win followed by Oliver Toothill and Harvey Greenfield.

GT12, had a lower than normal attendance due to clashing rounds with other events.
Craig Illingworth would make the worthwhile trip and take home the top spot. Craig took flag to flag wins in both finals with Sean Cohen and Kenzie Booth joining him on the podium.

2wd Buggy would see a close thought fight for the top spot.  Stewart McLeod would take pole and wins in both of the two legged finals. Tom Hardy would follow him home in second with his Schumacher KC, and Tom Penn would complete the podium.

4wd was the final Buggy racing of the day. Local Schumacher off road superstar Mitch Fiddling would take TQ and a double victory in both finals with his Schumacher CAT K2. Making it two Schumacher's on the podium was James Beckett with his own K2, with Richard Howells joining them in 3rd.

The next round is on the 10th of December in at the Meridian Leisure centre Louth.
