CAT K2 Wins Belgium Nats Rd4

02 August 2017

This weekend was the 4th national on the largest track we have Arendonk.
Its a nice astro track with insane high grip and very bumpy so we needed some time to get the cars balanced for the race on Sunday.

Sunday came and qualie’s started.  In 2wd wesley had a win and a second so the last qualie was a decider for TQ but he had some bad luck it started to rain just before the first lap was completed so he was in the only wet heat on yellows and had no chance for it and so he just had a try at how fast he could drive it/
First final was won by wesley and second final was lost due to another servo failure so the last one would decide who would win the 2wd Wesley was close on Nick vrancks all final and passed him on the last minute but a small erorr going onto the straight made him loose the final to Nick, 3rd was Thibault Jacquloot.

Too bad Brent never got his luck in the B final and ended up in 18th place
C final had a very nice fight fort he win between Jean-Michel taijmans and Esmee Briers of which the last one won the C final.  Patrick van Laer came in 7th, Koen Middelkoop came in 6th in D final

4wd was hard work for all the drivers as you could not push the car as fast as you liked or it was grip roling.
Wesley had some good qualies and got second place behind local ace david pauwels.
First final was an awsome race between wesley and David of which the last one was just a touch faster so a 1 for david and 2 for wesley.  The second was the same with some great overtaking  by the both of them up until the last lap david had a great run on the straight and wes was on the inside and they both made a mistake on the end of the straight and both went off after the marshall put them both on track the 3rd car of Erik Michiels was already by and won the final
So the last final would decide who would win the 4wd.  The cars were on the grid and it started to rain and on yellows it is not easy to keep the cars on the astro.  The K2 of wesley was on rails in the rain and after 3 corners he was off to the lead and doing laptime 1.5 sec faster then all the others.
What a difference this was compared to the dry high grip, so wesley won the last and also the national with David in second and Eric in 3rd.  Brent who came in 6th never had his day with the track changes

B final was a fight between Jean-Michel and Diego of which the last one got the win in the end
Dominique had some bad luck losing a wheel nut in the first winning the second and had his arm run off in the last but he did very well on this high grip

All-in all a very nice and compettitive weekend and some thing to think about to come out even stronger the next race

Thanks to the team we have now that makes these  weekends super fun
Until the next time
