Harper and Eclipse Victorious

Last weekend was yet another successful one for the on-road team.  Swifts Raceway held R5 of the LMP-12 BRCA UK National.  In attendance for this race would be the strong growing Schumacher team, reinforced for this weekend with newly crowned GT12 world’s winner Michal Orlowski and also touring car star, Elliott Harper.  Both drivers were running the Schumacher Eclipse for the first time.

In the Saturday stock 13.5 class where all drivers would compete in the one class, Elliott managed to take TQ and win showing a strong return to the class after many years away! For Michal, it was a fantastic first ever race, finishing on the podium at first time trying in this hugely competitive class.

On Sunday, the sports class would see Peter Craig and Aidan Ripley make the A final, for Schumacher.  Aidan struggled slightly having not been able to compete on the track the day before.  He would show strongly in the final, but for a mistake putting him back down the order by the finishing line. 

Modified class came round and it would be Michal Orlowski who showed strongest with the Eclipse this time, on for a possible TQ, an unfortunate mistake lost this chance in the final qualifier.  Michal, Elliott and Andy Murray would line up 3rd, 4th and 5th for the race.
A race between David Spashett, Adam Catchpole and Michal broke away out front.  Michal would push the front two hard for the lead until an error dropped him back, before having a battle to the finish with team mate Elliott Harper for 3rd.  Elliott took the final podium position with another great drive, with Michal and Andy finishing 4th and 5th overall.

David Spashett took the overall win in the Modified class and Matthew Varah was triumphant in the Sports modified class.
