Orlowski does the double at the EOS

22 November 2016

This past weekend saw the famous EOS race series visit Warsaw in Poland, the race was being held at a huge Motorshow so there were thousands of visitors throughout the weekend.
Many of them came to spectate at some point throughout their visit and watch some fantastic racing.
The Friday as always was a practice day for the drivers and also the Friday evening was the first 2 rounds of qualifying for 4wd.
Lots of drivers were looking very quick so it was sure to be close throughout qualifying.
Saturday came and it was 2wd day, the format as usual was 4 rounds of qualifying by round by round, with the best 2 results to count towards the overall qualifying position.

Schumacher's Michal Orlowski totally dominated 2wd qualifying, taking TQ in 3 of the 4 rounds and 3rd place in the last qualifier, this meant he would line up on pole position for
the 3 leg A Main finals, ahead of the Brits of Lee Martin and Neil Cragg 2nd and 3rd on the grid respectively. Chrissi Krapp did a brilliant job also with his Schumacher KF2 SE lining
up 5th on the grid.

Orlowski was outstanding in all 3 legs of the finals taking the win in all 3 races quite convincingly.
He won each race by several seconds from the rest of the field.
Chrissi krapp ended his day with a 5th place finish so also a great result for him.

Here are the top 10 positions after all 3 legs of the A finals in 2wd:

1 Michal Orlowski - Cougar KF2 SE
2 Lee Martin
3 Neil Cragg
4 Joona Haatanen
5 Christopher Krapp - Cougar KF2 SE
6 Jesper Rasmussen
7 Jorn Neumann
8 Hupo Honigl
9 Marc Rheinard
10 Joel Valander

Sunday came and 4wd qualifying was to be resumed from Friday evening. Orlowski knew he needed 2 great runs to get him in contention for the A final due to some problems in the first 2 runs.
His Schumacher Cat K2 was performing great and once again he was driving brilliantly. He managed to take 2nd in the third qualifier just behind Coelho and then managed to take TQ in the
fourth qualifier to line up 2nd on the grid for the triple A Mains.
Some superb close racing followed in all 3 legs of the finals, between Orlowski, Coelho, Bayer and Lee Martin.
Several positions being swapped in each race, however Orlowski managed to win leg 1 and also leg 3 to take the overall 4wd victory.

Here are the top 10 positions after all 3 legs of the finals in 4wd:

1 Michal Orlowski - CAT K2
2 Bruno Coelho
3 Martin Bayer
4 Lee Martin
5 Hupo Honigl
6 Kaja Novotny
7 Jorn Neumann
8 Marc Rheinard
9 Malin Karlsen
10 Joel Valander

So an amazing weekend and results, it was fantastic to see Michal take victory in both classes and made even more special in front of his home crowd in Poland.
Very few drivers have managed to take the win in both classes at the EOS races, so a brilliant achievement.

The results now means he leads the 2wd Championship and closes right in on the leader in the 4wd Championship.

Great job by the rest of the Schumacher team of drivers who attended, it was a pleasure to see you all there and well done.

As always a great job done by Uwe, Scotty and their team of people. Also many thanks to Red RC for the reports, updates and photos from the event.
