Rug Racers Reloaded

This weekend saw Rug Racers Reloaded, a one off event held before the full Rug Racers series kicks off in a few weeks time.  For this season, the series has chosen the popular Sorex 32RK tire as a control tire.  A choice that went down well with racers, having great grip even after a full days racing on the 1 allowed set.  It also sees the start of a season on their new Black carpet.   The race format saw 4 rounds of qualifying and 2 leg finals.

After 1 practise round, qualifying was kicked off, and in the Open modified class Schumacher’s Andy Murray would take 3 out of 4 rounds and the overall TQ by half a lap.
The finals were a similar story, with Andy and his Mi5evo taking comfortable wins in both finals.  It was a double podium finish for the Eldridge family, with both Brian and Harley finishing 2nd and 3rd.  This was a strong field with many national A final standard entrants, and we look forward to the upcoming race series!
