oOple Series Round 1

Round 1 of the oOple series was held at Bury’s new track. The track is 100% astro turf and consists of some table top jumps, moguls and raised sections at both ends of the track.
The oOple series has certainly cemented it’s place on the racers calendar with it’s “fun and laid back” approach which makes for an enjoyable weekend.
The weekend consisted of 5 rounds qualifying and 3 leg finals for everyone.

Ben Jemison took the TQ honours in both classes after some close qualifying with Stuart Wood and Chris Evison in the 2wd class, and Paul Crompton in the 4wd class.

Stuart Wod took Leg 1 of 2wd after passing Ben on the first lap and drove a solid race without a mistake to the finish! Ben managed to take Leg’s 2 and 3 and secure the meeting after being pressured early on by Stuart Wood and Chris Evison! 

In 4wd Paul Crompton drove two very controlled races in Leg’s 1 and 2 to take the overall win after breakages from a hard charging Ben Jemison!

A big thanks to the Bury club for providing a great track and facilities, and to the oOple crew for running a great meeting! Round 2 is to be held at Dunfermline on the 6/7th of June.
