Stock 1-2 at German Nationals

23 August 2013

This past weekend the 2013 German Nationals took place in Leipzig and it was an extremely successful weekend for the Schumacher Team.
The huge track was altered slightly to make it more challenging which proofed to be dangerous but successful.
Germany not only breeds top modified drivers that fill up half the A final at international races on a regular basis but also sets the stage for the big boys in Pro Stock racing.
At this year’s nationals up front there were the two ETS frontrunners Toni Streit and Daniel Wohlgemuth fighting for TQ with a couple of other drivers in the mix. In the end it was Daniel who managed to grab TQ honours with his Mi5 ahead of Toni and Florian Botzenhart also with his Mi5.
In the finals Daniel showed great skills by winning the first two legs and therefore the 2013 national title. In A3 the runner up spot was up for grabs. In the end it was Florian Botzenhart who managed to win the final leg taking the vice championship.

Schumacher 1-2-finish in Pro-Stock done in style!

In the modified category unfortunately Martin Hofer was a bit more unlucky, having scored 7th finishes in 4 of 5 qualifiers, 3 times of those missing out on a 6th or 5th by less than 1/10 of a second, Martin found himself on BQ again. It's fair to say it does neither reflect the cars true pace.

All in all a great run for the team at the German Nationals!
