West Bridgford Round 2

23 January 2013

West Bridgford Model Car Club hosted round 2 of their popular winter series in Nottinghamshire.  The club laid out a flowing track with plenty of jumps to test the drivers.

In 2wd Lloyd Storey TQ’ed all 4 rounds of qualifying to line up on pole position for the A final.  Team mate Greg Williams secured 2nd on the grid with two 2nd place finishes in qualifying.  There was a total of five Schumacher Cougar SV2’s in the A final, showing just how well it performs indoors on carpet.

The final started and Greg followed Lloyd closely for the first two laps, but Greg made an error on lap 2 which dropped him out of contention.  Lloyd then went on to take the win with a healthy margin over Ian Mellish in 2nd, and Richard Drury in 3rd.

In the 4wd class, Schumacher team driver Matt Owen took overall TQ in qualifying with his Schumacher Cat K1, taking top spot in 3 out of the 4 rounds of qualifying.  Matt took full advantage of lining up first on the grid for the A final and converted his pole position into a win.

Congratulations to the team.
