BTCC Rd 6 Snetterton

The Schumacher BTCC 2009 championship round 6 took place at Snetterton. The weather conditions looked favourable for some fast times to be set as it proved to be in morning practise people were standing with stopwatches timing their drivers. It was confirmed at drivers briefing that qualifying would be FTD
13.5t Brushless / 27t Brushed
After the 3 rounds of qualifying it was Noel Bean who took pole position for the A main finals with a time of 20/301.58 6 second behind was Wayne Shaw who took second place. Third was Roy Crowson.
After all 3 Qualifying Rounds the top 10 in the 13.5 BL / 27t B class were:-

10.5t Brushless / 19t Brushed
After 3 rounds of very close qualifying it was Sam Clifton who took the honours, with a new track record time in this class of 23/311.70 a second behind Sam was Dominic Carter and in third place was local man Darren White also on 23 laps all was set for some exciting finals.
After all 3 Qualifying Rounds the top 10 were:-

Modified
Pole position in the modified class went to Christopher delves with a time of 23/304.05. Three seconds behind Christopher was Brian Eldridge with Jamie Mcdonheh, the first 4 drivers all doing 23 laps the finals looked like they would be well contested
After all 3 Qualifying Rounds the top 5 were:-

2. Brian Eldridge
3. Jamie Mcdonagh
4. Adam Rogers
5. Mark Burgess



Finals

10.5 Brushless / 19t Brushed D Final
It was Thomas Bird, who took the overall victory in this final winning the 1st final and finishing 3rd in the second, Second place was James Freeman with a 4th and 2nd place. Last step on the podium was pole sitter Andrew Langham Service with a 7th in the first final and winning the second.
10.5t Brushless / 19t Brushed C final
With a reversal of qualifying it was second on the grid Neil Berryman who took the win in this final with two 2nd places, pole man Daniel Goward finished 2nd and Luke Bennett 3rd.
10.5t Brushless / 19t Brushed B final
Just missing out on the A final it was pole man in this final Adam Meakin who took the honours in this final with 2 wins. Second was Dean Osbon and Zak Finlay 3rd
13.5t Brushless / 27t Brushed A Final
The winner with 2 great finals it was pole position man Noel Bean who took the overall win by winning both finals. Kris Kennedy with a good qualifying improved on that by taking second place on the podium with a 4th and 3rd place. The final podium spot went to Neil Cooper with a 2nd and 6th respectively.

10.5t Brushless / 19t Brushed A Final
Final 1
The first final saw pole man Sam Clifton drop down to 4 th place which he could not recover from and it was local man Darren White who moved up from 3 rd on the grid to take the victory almost 3 seconds from second place man Steve Lissamore, With a great drive Mathew Tuplin finish 3 rd only 3/10ths of a second behind Steve.
Final 2
After a good start off the line it was Sam Clifton who lead this final and with no incidents or mistakes he kept the lead for the full 5 minutes pulling just over a 2 ½ second gap on 2 nd place man Darren White who had an unchallenged final from 3  rd place driver Scott Morton. With the results combined it was Darren White who took the overall victory from Sam Clifton 2 ndand Scott Morton 3 rd.

Modified A Final
Final 1
Final 1 saw Christopher Delves convert his pole position into a reasonably comfortable victory in this final winning it by almost 5 seconds from Brian Eldridge who never looked challenged from 3 rd place in this final Jamie Mcdonagh
 
Final 2
With a reversal of the first final it was Brian Eldridge who took the win but only by just under a second from leg 1 winner Christopher Delves great racing guys! Third place went to Tim Tims with this result it was Christopher who took the overall win tied on points with Brian, Christopher taking it on qualifying Tim Tims took the last place on the podium.
